Arrived here early evening... Had too enter and exit the front door three times until someone finally manned the desk to check me in.. I was tired after my long journey so wanted too use room service instead of going too the restaurant.. I tried both the room service number and the front desk for 22 minutes... Both numbers just continually rang. Gave up in the end... Its a good job I'm not elderly and it wasn't an emergency as if it were I would of been on the floor and nobody would be none the wiser until the next morning when I didn't check out on time... (that's if there would have been anyone on the desk to realise that is) For a 4 star hotel I wasn't impressed. On top of that.. The room was cold.. Had too keep the bathroom door shut to keep warm and it was noisy as its right next too a petrol garage.

The reception staff were incredibly accommodating booking us into our rooms early as we were going to a Funeral the rooms were clean and very comfortable. In general the hotel is very clean. Unfortunately we dined in the restaurant that evening and which proved to be a very bad choice. The food took over an hour to come to the table and I'm sure that it was nothing more than microwave garbage. However breakfast was a pleasant change with a good selection of choices available. In general if the restaurant had been better I would definitely have given service 5 stars as the girls on reception were fantastic.

We stayed in a family room, which was very spacious. Unfortunately, there was only 1 pillow per person, and when we asked for more, the receptionist was very taken aback by this and only allowed us 2 more. We ended up having to use the sofa cushions to enable us to sleep more comfortably. The breakfast options were good. It was value for money if eating both the hot food and continental selection. Cleanliness of the hotel was very good.

Second stay in last 12 months, on both occasions rooms freezing, moved to another room this time, barely much warmer, I don’t feel the cold too much but on a cold January evening arriving after a four hour drive to a freezing room is not my idea of fun. Zero heating in the bathroom, none of the radiators working, the ac/heating useless, the staff clearly know there are issues, hotel needs upgrading, I had to sleep in clothes and dressing gown, not good enough.
